Evolis (2024), digitally rendered art print

Soul-Assemblages Series:

A dance of a single body, splintered across time. Each piece fractures movement into frozen moments—ghostly echoes of limbs, crystalline traces of skin—then stitches them back into a shimmering whole. Motion times Time becomes Form. This series envisions every entity as a living assemblage, of entities of the past and the future. It questions the reality as infinite folds of realities.

Shadow Puppets

Edition of 10 | 18” x 24” mounted + framed

Medium: Archival print on Canon Photo Luster

Following the vision of every entity as a living assemblage of their past and future, realized through juxtaposing different frames of the same figure’s movement, Shadow Puppets symbolizes the passage of time by the most straightforward way of turning a figure’s later frames into a skeleton.

Shadow Puppets 2 (2024), single frame render (not yet materialized)
Deluge (video on loop)

Deluge (video) was made with multiple layers of simulation including a gradual mixing of two shaders, motion capture-driven particles, and smoke FX.

Lokot (2024), digitally rendered art print

Lokot

Edition of 10 | 18” x 24” mounted + framed

Medium: Archival print on Canon Photo Luster

As Yiou spent a year deeply influenced by Taiwanese novel《邦查女孩》(“Pangcah Girl”), Yiou created Lokot to reanimate the Pangcah myth of metamorphosis, where a fish walks ashore to become a plant. Through procedural simulation, texturing and pseudo-photographic render aesthetics, organic debris, microplastics, and marine life collide into a crystalline portrait of hybrid futures—a digital folktale for the Anthropocene.
